E4D Electric Evaporators
The problem with other designs – Bottom heat evaporators use strip heaters fastened to the tank's underside where more than half of the heat energy radiates away from the wastewater. Solid contamination falling on the bottom reduces heat transfer and, over time, shortens strip heater life. Often this condition causes warpage of the tank bottom.

The lower levels of tubes cannot be easily reached and are hard to inspect for their condition.
